I visited Manila Philippines to apply for my Thai tourist visa and decided to finally try Airbnb as I've heard nothing but great things. I found a place that looked great, and had 22 reviews that were nearly perfect!!!
I booked the place for the week, excited to roll in there, met the owner guy and he was as pleasant as can be.
Next step, unpack and get settled in! After about 20min of being there i realized there was a major problem. There were cockroaches everywhere! Went to the grocery story to get Baygon bug spray to help out the situation, it killed them, but they would never stop coming, on tables, around my bags, running towards every food, crack, toilet, shower, corner of every room, and first night there feeling a tickle on my head, wokeup, and found one was in my bed (and on my fcking head!!!)
Ends up the shower water heater was broken, the washing machine broken, so i went back to check the 22 reviews, and there was NOT ONE negative mention of any of these things!!!! Is it possible that Airbnb has fake reviewers? This is a huge turn off. Either 22 people were most likely dishonest, withholding truth, or just straight up taking herion their duration of staying in this condo.
What are your Airbnb experiences? have any horror story like this?
UGHHHH fucking frustrated!!! I am going to submit my own review, factual and truthful very soon, I hope future people can be warned about these issues as all 22 reviewers before me gave me no warning, (mofos!)
