Has anyone else had a terrible time about having your aircons work properly in Thailand?

I've been through 6 aircons, and all of them are complete failure, and now being so extremely hot is making it more and more miserable living here.

My bedroom aircon is so inconsistent, it's less than a year old still covered under Samsung warranty. It blows out nothing at some times, sometimes blows air only (hot air), and rarely actually blows cool air. Sometimes it's on the highest fan/cool settings and nothing is blowing out, yet my power bills in a small condo still come to 5500 baht per month, it's ridiculous.

My living room aircon is very old, it always will blow out cold air, but it will fill an entire living room with water, power cords will be laying in a thick layer of water and sometimes I put buckets under the aircons so the water drips into those rather than flooding my room.

It's a complete nightmare!!! My previous condo had the same exact issue with it's 3 aircons. And previous to that I had a studio with 1 aircon that also had all sorts of problems.

Is this a curse?! or just HELL!?

That sucks! Why don't you buy a portable A/C unit? Would be safer than putting buckets to catch the water off your A/C 0_O

I've been looking into buying 1 of those as a backup plan. I'm going to stay in a hotel tomorrow for a few nights to get some decent rest. I've heard it's hotter here now than it's ever been in like 75 years!!! So without aircon is fucking MISERABLE omg! Thanks for suggestion Boricua :)

No worries. I had a portable unit when I lived in San Diego. Dummies that refurbished the apartment didn't think it got hot enough to need an A/C unit. It's better than not having anything.

Ya true, but i think they're pretty expensive arent they? I have to wait until May 25th until they finally say they have time to fix my aircon.... so almost 2 weeks :( :( :(

But damn, really bad timing for aircons to break, especially when 2016 is set to be the HOTTEST freaking year in history!

I don't remember how much we paid, but it was somewhere around $800-$900. I don't know about you, but I rather pay the money than cook my nuts, Hahahaha..........

But if you can last 2 weeks of scorching heat Hahaha......., go for it.
